Apple Martin Disputes Those ‘Mean Girl’ Accusations

Apple Martin (daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin)’s official debut into high society didn’t exactly go off without a hitch, after video of her at Le Bal des Débutantes saw her branded online as a “mean girl.”

So, naturally, she made a cheeky TikTok video referencing her own saucy reputation.

The viral video showed Martin, dressed in custom blue Valentino, in a moment with another deb, French countess Aliénor Loppin de Montmort. Some claimed that in the video, Martin tried to get Loppin de Montmort out of the way in order to mug for the camera.

The move could be viewed as either playful or Regina George-coded, and you can probably guess which direction the internet took it.

Now a few weeks later, per Page Six, Apple Martin has appeared in her friend Ava Crox’s since-deleted TikTok video, seeming to jokingly respond to the backlash.

Martin and her friends lip-synced a voiceover saying, “I don’t know how anyone has a problem with us. We are such a delight.” The audio continued, “We are two of the funniest girls and I know us, like offline.”
