Despite repeat viewings of the Bond classic Casino Royale, I never noticed the “knuckleduster” scene until today. It’s best in slow motion where you can easily clock Daniel Craig using his watch to repeatedly punch a henchman right in the kisser. Much more so than in the Brosnan-era films and in the Craig films that come after, it feels like a genuine bit of improvised fighting. And a piece of that legacy can now be yours.
Of course, Bond’s brawl was anything but improvised. The scene required the careful use of a “stunt” watch with a rubber bezel and a false dial created with decals. (It wouldn’t be terribly enjoyable for a stuntman to be hit in the face with a genuine stainless steel Seamaster, after all.) Now that very watch is up for sale at auction with bidding set to close March 26th. Propstoreauction.com, which auctions—you guessed it—movie props from its London and Los Angeles locations, has set a starting bid of $3,750 with an estimate of between $7,500 to $15,000.

The Seamaster in question is an Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Co-Axial Ref. 2220.80.00—or, the nonworking stunt version of one, anyway. Though it looks not dissimilar from the watch worn by Pierce Brosnan in the three Bond films that preceded Casino Royale, it features as its power plant the Calibre 2500, which is the Co-Axial version of the ETA 2892-A2 automatic movement. (Brosnan’s Seamaster Ref. 2531.80.00 used a non-Co-Axial Calibre 1120 ETA-based movement.) The one you’d potentially be bidding on does not tell the time, unfortunately, though it does look pretty badass with its beat-up false dial and bezel (which are Velcroed onto the bracelet!). It also comes on a custom-made black stand reading, simply, “Daniel Craig, Omega Seamaster.” This piece will really test prospective owners’ love of patina.
