Sandler has been steady rocking collared shirts all summer, both on and off the court. He also loves Adidas, whether it’s shorts or track pants. When stopped for a man-on-the-street fit check, Sandler (wearing a similar-but-different ensemble to the Hawaiian shirt and Adidas shorts combo) said of his approach to getting dressed, “Whatever is in the closet, I grab it. I don’t think about it much. Most people make fun of me and my family, but I keep moving.”
The Hawaiian shirt is really what drew our attention to this latest getup, though. Doing any sort of heavy cardio in a button-up shirt is a fairly wild move, but we trust Sandler to know what it takes for him to achieve optimal results. It’s well-documented that the 57-year-old is a problem with the rock in his hands, and the Hawaiian shirt didn’t seem to constrict him at all. Some TMZ footage of this particular game shows the actor playing a classic brand of Sandler ball: passing and cutting, getting his teammates involved, throwing some no-look dimes, and displaying a confident, tight handle.
We’ve seen Sandler get some shots up in semi-formal threads, and we’ve seen him team up with Hollywood starlets 30 years his junior, but a Hawaiian shirt for a midday run in SoHo on a random Thursday might be his final form. If you see him on the street this summer, just know that no matter what he’s wearing, Adam Sandler is probably on his way to get buckets.
