This small museum is located inside the original building of the town doctor from Winterville, Georgia. It offers visitors a chance to see how far we’ve come with medicine and to honor those who had to handle everything in a day. There’s a day in the life example where the local doctor might have taken care of someone’s tooth, then delivered a baby, and then amputated a limb—all in a day’s work.
Outside, a small botanical garden offers insights into how doctors and chemists made their own medications when they couldn’t make a quick trip to the local pharmacy.
