Are Ella Langley and Riley Green dating? They say no, but the entire country music community definitely ships it.
If you’re not big into country music, you might not know the names Ella Langley and Riley Green, but even you couldn’t have escaped their duet, “You Look Like You Love Me,” which dominated the charts, radio, and TikTok feeds following its release in June 2024.
25-year-old Langley was opening for 36-year-old Green on tour when she played him a song and he decided to contribute a verse. “When we wrote the song, we were laughing thinking this might cause some marriages, maybe some divorces, and definitely some children,” Langley told People in November 2024.
While that my be the case, many country fans also saw the makings of a great love story unfolding before their very eyes. But according to Langley, the Alabama-born country singers are “just good friends.” Here’s everything we know about their friendship—and what they’ve said about dating.

December 11, 2024: Once again, Green confirms the pair aren’t dating during an appearance on The Viall Files podcast. “Ella’s probably too smart to date me anyway,” he joked. “But I think that’s kind of the country music fan, like, they love the Tim McGraw and Faith [Hill], and the George [Jones] and Tammy [Wynette].”
He continued, “And when we fist started having the success we did with that song, I kinda told Ella, I was like, ‘There’s gonna be a lot of things said, but I mean, you don’t really have to play into it or not play into it, its gonna be something people enjoy the same way we do when we go listen to those songs, so it’s cool to have that moment on stage with her every night.’”

October 18, 2024: Green says the pair will likely release a joint album in the future. “Well at this rate, I think we’re working on it,” he tells Billboard. “I think people kind of long for that storybook type of thing, the George [Jones] and Tammy Wynette, or Johnny [Cash] and June [Carter] and all that. You haven’t seen it in a long time—maybe Tim [McGraw] and Faith [Hill] would be the closest thing we’ve seen and I don’t have a problem leaning into that at all. I think she writes great songs and I love her voice so I think if there’s something else that comes along that fits, we’ll probably do it.”
Still, he says they’re just friends. “With ‘You Look Like You Love Me,’ it’s a girl picking up a guy in a bar song, so I can totally see where that led fans to think something, and then we go with ‘Don’t Mind If I Do,’ which is a more heartfelt love song,” Green says. “But we’re just great friends and I’m really a fan of her music, so it’s awesome to have this success with her on both these songs.”
