Emily in Paris officially began filming season 5 on May 7, 2025—and to mark the occasion, Lily Collins gave fans a sneak peek at Emily Cooper’s new look. Gone are the breakup bangs and sleek waves. Now the character has a precise, c*nty little bob similar to the cut Lily Collins herself has been sporting since last June, when she first chopped her signature long hair.
In the photo posted to Instagram—captioned “Lights, Camera, Amore – Emily in Paris Season 5 is now in production!”—Collins is seen sitting on a Vespa-like scooter, wearing a print dress, with the Emily in Paris crew in the background.
Given that Emily ended up in Rome at the end of season 4, that’s most likely where the photo was taken, though their was no geotag on the image. Of course, there’s always the chance that Collins will wear a wig in the new season—but given how camera-ready she looks, this photo is pretty convincing that Emily Cooper has a new style. And we are so here for it.

Emily has always had her own take on Parisian style, but this cut is her most polished and chic to date. It goes perfectly with the fresh start the character is embarking on—from opening Agence Grateau’s new Rome office to dating Italian heartthrob Marcello Muratori (Eugenio Franceschini)—so it’s only appropriate that Emily would lean into this new chapter of her life. Of course, her move to Rome is, so far, only a temporary one. Also, her ex-boyfriend, French chef Gabriel, is hot on her heels after deciding he must travel to Italy to win her back.
So, when will fans see the new season of Emily in Paris? Given that filming just began, we most likely won’t get season 5 until later this holiday season at the earliest. (Emily in Paris season 4 premiered in August 2024, meaning that it will be more than a year between seasons.)
