Counting the days until Christmas day is one of my most cherished Christmas traditions. It’s one of those little things that add to the whole Christmasy feeling, like Christmas carols, putting up the Christmas lights, making a gingerbread house and enjoying candy canes next to the Christmas tree.

These family advent calendar ideas are a perfect way to enjoy quality time with young kids, older children, teens, and adults alike. Some of them are easy enough that young children can do most of the work, while others take a bit more effort but are still a special way to enjoy each other’s company.
