On May 6, the 28-year-old supermodel shared a photo of a Thom Browne clothing tag to her Instagram Story, which was inscribed with the words “Thom Browne. Gigi Hadid. Met Gala 2024.” Could you imagine Hadid’s bestie Taylor Swift ever being so transparent? I can’t!

The tag is attached to a bright white fabric with a contrasting black zig-zag stitch—perhaps a hint at a black-and-white look? Thom Browne is known for his neutrals, with the only exceptions being his signature navy and red stripes, so it’s highly likely that Hadid will be wearing less, rather than more, color. It’s also likely that the ensemble itself will be some sort of suit, tailored to perfection, in a luxurious fabric.
In previous years, Gigi Hadid’s Met Gala outfits have trended toward more maximalist, feminine styles. There was the plunging Diane von Furstenberg dress she wore to her first Gala in 2015, and the stain glass-inspired Versace gown she wore back in 2018. Even her more daring looks—like the Michael Kors bodysuit and feathered cape she wore to the 2019 affair, or her black chiffon Givenchy number from last year’s Karl Lagerfeld-inspired Gala, have aired on the side of femme.
But what can we say—she has the range!
