Like his character Carmy on The Bear, Jeremy Allen White is a bit of a menswear enthusiast. The actorâs personal style is fundamentally unfussyâhis daily outfits are typically contained to blue jeans, breezy button-up shirts, and his usual worn-to-shreds Mets capâbut as his star has risen, heâs occasionally dipped into the well: a crisp custom Calvin Klein suit at The Bearâs recent season three premiere, a rolled-up beanie and voguish leather bomber jacket on a winter stroll with his maybe-girlfriend, the Spanish singer RosalÃa.
But The Bear star recently flexed his sartorial prowess (or at least, his A-lister statusâs industry pull) when he appeared in Los Angeles wearing fashionâs current âItâ sneaker, the hard-to-get Bode x Nike Astro Grabbers. Shoes aside, the rest of his ensemble consisted of an otherwise unassuming ribbed white tank, faded jeans, and unbuttoned linen shirt.
The limited-edition sneakers debuted in limited quantities this spring as the inaugural drop from New York brand Bodeâs ongoing Bode Rec. collaboration with the Beaverton, Oregon sportswear giant. Theyâve been worn by a select few in-the-know dressers such as model Kaia Gerber, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith, and actress Katie Holmes. Speaking of menswear enthusiasts, Whiteâs The Bear costar Ayo Edebiri also has a pair.
But as far as fashion statements go, this one still feels pretty within the usual Jeremy Allen White Style Playbook. The Bode Nikesâ retro, snub-nosed silhouette harkens back to Whiteâs usual go-to sneaker, the Nike Cortez, which he frequently wears when heâs not, uh, letting the dogs out.
