Kit Connor, Charles Melton, and the 'Warfare' Cast Had a Watch Battle of the Ages

Kit Connor, Joseph Quinn, Charles Melton, Will Pouter, Cosmo Jarvis, and Michael Gandolfini. No, this isn’t a six-man squad made exclusively of Hollywood hot guys. They all star in Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland’s mega-intense battle movie Warfare. And for the film’s premieres in Los Angeles and London, the cast of internet boyfriends came out all horological guns blazing. The actors showed out with an arsenal of Cartier, TAG Heuer, Breitling, and Omega grails—with some nice military links among them.

For Connor, the world premiere in LA was another chance to give his TAG Heuer Monaco a spin. The heartstopper rocked TAG’s race-rooted chronograph on a black leather strap, with a classic double-breasted suit and black tie. This cubic model first dropped in 1969, one of the first to feature an automatic chronograph. And while its roots might be in racing, it bagged some wrist time on legendary actor Steve McQueen in the 1971 movie Le Mans.

If you’re a sharp-witted watch fiend, you might have seen Connor wearing this one at the Oscars. And the actor doubling down on the Monaco shows two things. The first is that despite its unique shape it can be worn on the red carpet and with everyday fits Second, it shows the actor has a taste for the classics far beyond his years, which leaves a potential for some super future wrist checks.

Like Connor, Jarvis kept the sports theme going in LA, swapping the racing vibes for the sea with a Breitling Super Ocean B20 Automatic 42. This is the type of watch that checks out when you’re playing a Navy SEAL in an A24 movie. Jarvis went for a stealthy all-black suit and his watch’s black bezel kept things equally lowkey. And while dive watches aren’t usually known for their suit pairing ability, the Super Ocean B20’s mesh bracelet stopped things from getting too tactical. The Breitling is waterproof up to 200 metres and packs up to seventy hours of power reserve using the watchmaker’s B20 movement. Perfect then, for a guy cast with playing the role of a military tough guy.
