Patrick and Brittany Mahomes are expecting a baby girl—but they didn’t rely on cake to reveal the sex of their third baby.
Instead, the 28-year-old NFL quarterback and his high-school sweetheart constructed a giant game of Tic-Tac-Toe to reveal the big news, which they shared on July 19. “Baby Mahomes #3 is a…💙🩷,” Brittany captioned a video of the family-oriented event on Instagram.
This was less a gender reveal for the parents as it was for the couple’s three-year-old daughter, Sterling Sky, and 18-month-old son, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III. In the video, Stirling was tasked with flipping around each block to reveal a “Little Sis” or “Little Bro,” represented by pink X’s and blue O’s. The game board was set up by their pool, underneath an arch of pink and blue balloons.
In the end, their eldest won Tic-Tac-Toe with a row of three pink X’s, which means the Mahomes family is expecting another baby girl. But if you thought the old-school game was a cute replacement for colored smoke guns or confetti cannons, you’d be mistaken. This update comes a week after the power couple announced they were expecting their third child by posting another sweet family video on July 12. In that clip, each member of the Mahomes family danced around in white outfits while Stirling held on tight to ultrasound photos of her baby sister. Set to Bruno Mars’ “Count on You,” Brittany Mahomes captioned the post, “Round three, here we come 🤍.”
