Supplies needed to make our plant parts craft

- Colored paper
- Pipe cleaners
- Tissue paper
- Scissors
- School glue
- Colored pencils/crayons/markers/paint
- Pencil
Instructions to make our plant parts craft
Step 1
Draw a basic picture of a plant including petals, stem, leaves, and roots. If you have trouble drawing a flower, download and print one of our free flower coloring page printables, and then you can add the stem, roots, and flowers to it.
Step 2
Using your scissors, cut your paper, straws, pipe cleaners, and tissue paper into smaller pieces. This will make it easier for kids to glue them into place. Kids who can use scissors can help cut these supplies too.
Step 3
Using the various materials let your child decorate the picture while you help them name the parts and explain what they do. We used pieces of straw for the stem, because the plants use these parts to “suck up” nutrients and water. We used small squares of tissue paper scrunched for the petals. The leaves were colored with markers, and the roots were pipe cleaners. As an added element we used brown paper to make the soil portion of the picture.
