Selena Gomez Continues to Make the Case for a Deep Side Part (and a Marquis Engagement Ring)

In case you were wondering, yes, that is a marquise cut, just like the diamond she references in the lyrics to her 2015 song “Good For You.”

“I’m on my 14 carats, I’m 14 carat,” the song begins, and in a later verse, she sings, “I’m on my marquise diamonds, I’m a marquise diamond, Could even make that Tiffany jealous.” Clearly, she’s been manifesting this specific ring for years.

In a recent interview with Page Six, the ring’s designers Katherine Theofilos Claster and Stephanie Theofilos revealed that Blanco intentionally reference to the song and other symbols of their love while customizing the ring for Selena Gomez.

“Benny, a wonderful creative himself, had specific inspiration, including the center cut, the marquise,” Theofilos Claster said, adding, “For this project, Benny was immediately drawn to the stone he ultimately chose. Much like love, in a room full of people, you are drawn to your soulmate.”

So thoughtful and specific! As one commenter wrote on Blanco’s post about the engagement, “We love a man that takes notes 💅✨.” We do.
