Levitan wrote in his own post, “It was so nice to see this group after so long. It’s been three and a half years since we shot the last show, but we’ll always be family.”

Stonestreet, who also posted to Instagram, explained Burrell’s absence. “For 11 years we would take family pictures for Modern Family and without missing one ever, I would always say, ‘now let’s do one without Ty,’” Stonestreet wrote in his caption. “Last night Ty couldn’t make it to our little impromptu reunion, so I had to bring his favorite picture of Phil so we could ‘do one without Ty.’”
