Spotted: Leighton Meester Debuts Spicy Ginger Red Hair While Reuniting With a Gossip Girl Costar

Spotted: Leighton Meester and Kelly Rutherford reunite at Paris Fashion Week, but L was nearly unrecognizable with a fiery new look.

Less than a month after showing up to the SAG awards with fresh auburn locks, the 38-year-old actor revealed an unexpected hair transformation at the Elie Saab runway show on March 8. Now, it seems that reddish brown shade was just a stepping stone towards full-on spicy ginger hair.

While Meester previously blended her bangs into the rest of her glamorous waves at SAG, they were back on display in Paris, adding a fresh and youthful touch to her romantic fashion week look.

Inside the show, Meester was seated directly next to former Gossip Girl costar Kelly Rutherford, who played Lily van der Woodsen, an elegant socialite and mother of Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively). In one TikTok video shared by Paris Match, the pair can be seen chatting before the show begins. Of course, they were both wearing gorgeous dresses by Elie Saab.

It’s unclear if Meester went red for her role in the second season of Nobody Wants This, which reportedly began filming in Los Angeles on March 7. On top of working with her husband Adam Brody, her upcoming appearance on the Netflix series is also a bit of a Gossip Girl reunion, as Kristen Bell voiced the iconic narrator of the hit teen drama. Over a decade later, Meester is set to play Bell’s character “Joanne’s middle school nemesis, who is now an Instagram mommy influencer.”

In fact, Meester and Bell played into their shared history at the SAG Awards for a hilarious bit about “gossip” at the ceremony, which quickly devolved into discourse about the menu. “The Popes in Conclave were better at gossip than us,” Bell joked. “I think we should pass the torch.”
