Beyoncé gave the vice president free rein to use her songs, and Kamala HQ is already making good use of that advantage in the first Kamala Harris campaign ad of her presidential run.
Set to Beyoncé’s âFreedom,â the one-minute spot features clips from Harris rallies interspersed with scenes of everyday people, meant to emphasize the diversity of America. There’s an older white couple laughing together; an Asian man working at a restaurant; a Latina grandma hugging a little girl; and a young Black boy playing in his room.

In voice-over, Harris says, âIn this election, we each face a question. What kind of country do we want to live in? There are some people who think we should be a country of chaos, of fear, of hate.â Here, the video shows brief images of Donald Trump and JD Vance speaking at rallies. Harris’s message continues, âBut us, we choose something different. We choose freedom. The freedom not just to get by, but get ahead. The freedom to be safe from gun violence. The freedom to make decisions about your own body. We choose a future where no child lives in poverty, where we can all afford healthcare, where no one is above the law.”
The Kamala Harris campaign ad ends with this: “We believe in the promise of America and we’re ready to fight for it. Because when we fight, we win.”
Or, to put it another way, just look at the âFreedomâ lyrics. Beyoncé sings, âI break chains all by myself/Won’t let my freedom rot in hell/Hey! I’ma keep running/’Cause a winner don’t quit on themselves.â
